WHO WE ARE

  • We realise that the way schools’ curriculum is developed and the way our teaching and learning ecosystem is designed in Nigeria presently leave up to 50 million schoolchildren at all levels deprived, particularly the girl child and at the basic education level.
  • We realise that the way schools’ curriculum is developed and the way our teaching and learning ecosystem is designed in Nigeria presently leave up to 50 million schoolchildren at all levels deprived, particularly the girl child and at the basic education level.
  • We are concerned that those who have carved out an existence outside the formal schools sector are left behind and will continue to fall behind if things are not done differently, and that those left behind will become a greater burden to society in the future.
  • We realise that to meet this need will involve doing things differently and doing different things, and importantly, making education and educational tools and products accessible, affordable, relatable and useable for students, communities and populations that are either underserved or unserved by the formal schools sector.
  • We acknowledge that the government alone cannot meet this need; a variety of stakeholders are part of meeting the urgent needs of those underserved and unserved by the formal schools sector.
  • We are convinced that accelerated development towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal-4 and the broad objectives and social development aspirations of the Nigeria Vision 20:2020 will be enhanced by supplementing the efforts of the government and not by supplanting it.
  • We are convinced that committed, responsive and responsible investments in education will have a ripple effect on development in all other sectors including the family, civil service, private sector, industry, health, security, justice, agriculture, science and technology, oil and gas, banking, telecoms, trade and commerce, ICT, entrepreneurship, entertainment, infrastructure, quality of governance and nation building.
  • We realise that the link between quality education and sustainable livelihoods should be reworked and strengthened in order to address the bulge in unemployed school leavers and restive youths in Nigeria through job creation, entrepreneurship and innovative use of local resources.
  • We facilitate innovative partnerships that involve government ministries, departments and agencies, development partners, the private sector, tech companies, nongovernmental and community-based organisations, foundations and well-meaning individuals in filling the gap.
  • We have developed and continue to refine an adaptive social enterprise model which effectively connects ideas to resources and channels them to areas of substantial need.4Page4
